Primary Education
Findlay helps build promising futures for its youth by providing challenging academics and a wide variety of opportunities for everyone. With over 6,496 students, the Findlay City School system offers nine elementary buildings, three middle schools and a comprehensive high school. 
The Hancock County district provides another 13 school systems each housing grades K-12. As an alternative to public schools, private schools such as Faith Academy of Findlay and St. Michael’s School offer education for children preschool through eighth grade while Findlay’s Blanchard Valley School provides education for students with specific special needs.
Doing all they can to prepare children to be lifelong learners, three school systems in Hancock County achieved an EXCELLENT performance rating on their “Report Card” given by the Ohio Department of Education. Only 31 percent of the school districts in the state achieved this highest ranking for the 2005-2006 Report Card.
Higher Education
As an extension of quality its general education, Findlay also offers its institutes of higher education. 
Owens Community College marked a milestone in the institution’s academic history after opening a $17.7 million Findlay-area campus and recently dedicating a new $4.2 million Community Education and Wellness Center. Owens’ Findlay-area campus is home to more than 100 degree and certificate program areas.
Founded in 1882 as Findlay College, the institution changed its name to the University of Findlay in 1989 to reflect the dynamic growth in
enrollment and the diversity of academic offerings available, including the addition of graduate programs. The University of Findlay has become the largest private university in Northwest Ohio with a total enrollment of more than 4,700. The University has been named a “College of Distinction” by Student Horizons Inc. in 2005 and 2006, and was recognized as one of “America’s Best Private Colleges” for 2005 and 2006 by Institutional Research and Evaluation Inc.
